The Gallery is located inside Victoria University of Wellington’s Kelburn campus, next to the Student Union Building. The gallery is accessed on foot via Gate 3 on Kelburn Parade. Gate 3 is not accessible to vehicles. Aftering entering campus, continue past Old Kirk Building. The Gallery is on your left adjacent to the Student Union Building.

BY CAR: From the Terrace, turn onto Salamanca Road, follow onto Kelburn Parade.

WEEKDAY PARKING: Parking on Victoria University of Wellington’s Kelburn campus is restricted. Street parking is available along Kelburn Parade and Pay & Display parks are located along Waiteata Road. Please note the availability of these carparks can be limited during weekday hours. Bookings for short-term visitor parking (2 hours maximum) are available through the University. Please contact: phone 0800 04 04 04 or email info@vuw.ac.nz.

AFTER 5PM & WEEKENDS: Free parking on Kelburn campus is available in unreserved carparks on weekdays after 5pm, and all day on weekends. Campus parking can be accessed via Gates 1, 2, and 7.

ON FOOT: From the Terrace, turn onto Salamanca Road, follow onto Kelburn Parade, the gallery is accessed via Gate 3 on Kelburn Parade. Or take a shorter route up the Allenby Steps (from Willis St turn into Boulcott St, turn left into Allenby Terrace, keep the church on your right and follow the path until it turns into steps). At the top of the steps turn left onto the Terrace, then right onto Salamanca Road, then take the small road that branches to your left past the dairy and go straight ahead up the pedestrian path to the Kelburn Campus. You will arrive at the Student Union, walk past this building and the gallery is on your right.

BY BUS: Check Metlink for updated timetables and routes.

BY CABLE CAR: Take the cable car to the University stop. Walk along Salamanca Road to Kelburn Parade. Walk up Kelburn Parade to Gate 3 (after the overbridge). Turn left into Gate 3, continue past Old Kirk Building. The Gallery is on your left adjacent to the Student Union Building.

Accessibility

The Gallery has wheelchair accessibility, accessible toilets and a lift to all levels. You are welcome to borrow portable stools while visiting the Gallery. And you are welcome to leave strollers, bags and coats with the attendant. The attendants are there to help so please feel free to ask for assistance.
