To coincide with the 5th Auckland Triennial, Auckland Art Gallery has published a catalogue edited by Triennial curator, Hou Hanru. If you were to live here… is a 216-page, full-colour book that includes new writing by local and international contributors, and a section on the architectural and design based Lab. It features major essays by Hou Hanru alongside Pascal Beausse, Felicity Fenner and Christina Barton, along with individual artists essays and brief biographies.
The catalogue operates as a guide book, leading readers through the exhibition's nine venues and introducing the practices of the Triennial's artists, many of whom are showing in New Zealand for the first time. The catalogue is designed by Toby Curnow, Inhouse Design. If you were to live here . . . is a valuable record of Auckland's largest Triennial to date.
