'When we began working together, in 1979, there was no commitment made by either of us to continue a working relationship. Since that time, we have developed an investigation involved with the social and psychological conditions of relationship. We have focused our work on people in interaction.
Our presence in performance can be seen as a prototype. Our audience is never simply an observer but is made keenly aware that they hold a relationship effective with the work in progress.
What is constantly evolving from this interaction is an understanding of the inherent meaning within a social encounter. We are both committed to performance as a means of realising these concepts.'
