Te Pātaka Toi Adam Art Gallery, in partnership with the Association for the Study of Literature, Environment and Culture, Australia – New Zealand (ASLEC-ANZ), hosted artist and writer Janine Randerson’s keynote presentation Fathomless: artists converse with the more-than-human. Randerson collaborates with urban meteorologists, glaciologists, climate scientists, community activists, tāngata whenua, and the more-than-human kin in local and internationally exhibited projects. In her lecture she asked, how do artists initiate dialogues with our more-than-human kin in this time of eco-political crisis?

This keynote presentation was part of Ngā tohu o te huarere: Conversations beyond human scales, ASLEC-ANZ Eighth Annual Conference Aotearoa, 23 - 26 November 2021, hosted by the English and Art History Programmes and the Centre for Science in Society at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
